Korean stars’ Red Carpet Fashion Part I

I know it’s still a long, long time from prom/grad night, but I always LOVE looking at what the celebrities wear, how they accessorize, how they do their hair etc for award ceremonies. (Who looked the most glamorous? And who looked like an alien? Heehee.) So here I am collating their red carpet looks for your benefit, enjoy!

Ha Ji Won 

Ha Ji Won makes me want to go tan, sigh. GODDESS.

Nam Sang Mi 

  

Nam Sang Mi is too lovely to say anything negative about; she has that harmless vibe to her that makes her very likeable. (Love the light blue bubble dress!)

Park Shin Hye 

 

Park Shin Hye’s fashion pick for the red carpet is definitely improving slowly. I think in the past she was trying too hard to look grown up and ended up looking awkward instead, but now that she’s being herself, she looks confident and endearing. 

Yoon Eun Hye 

 

 

I like that Yoon Eun Hye is bold in her attempts, and that she doesn’t always stick to the same look. But that’s all I can say… The only dress I might wear is the shiny blue minidress (not the one with a tail!!)

Kim Ha Neul 

 

Kim Ha Neul does both sweet and sexy hehe. The light beige dress is so flattering on the legs (or HER legs)!

Han Ye Seul 

  

Han Ye Seul totally rocks the red carpet! Also, girl likes warm colours like red and pink, doesn’t she? That’s a tip to all fair-skinned girls out there!

Lee Da Hae 

 

Lee Da Hae is a beautiful lady, but too bad she doesn’t look her best on award day.

Lee Yeon Hee

 

Lee Yeon Hee gives off a sweet radiance, but her red carpet looks aren’t very exciting. She still looks good without trying though.

Did you know?

The earliest known reference to walking a red carpet in literature is in the play Agamemnon by Aeschylus, written in 458 BC. When the title character returns from Troy, he is greeted by his vengeful wife Clytemnestra who offers him a red path to walk upon:

“Now my beloved, step down from your chariot, and let not your foot, my lord, touch the Earth. Servants, let there be spread before the house he never expected to see, where Justice leads him in, a crimson path.”

Agamemnon, knowing that only gods walk on such luxury, responds with trepidation:

“I am a mortal, a man; I cannot trample upon these tinted splendors without fear thrown in my path.”
