In FTV’s Summer’s Desire which premiered end of May, Barbie Hsu is caught in an intense love triangle between Huang Xiao Ming and Peter Ho. Her love with Huang Xiao Ming is entitled “suffocating love”, while her romance with Peter is described as a ” fatal love”. It has aired 4 episodes thus far and its episode ratings have risen steadily from episode 1’s 0.86 to episode 4’s 1.55.

Personally, I’ve been looking forward to its premiere since the release of its teaser eons ago and shared my anticipation here, and now it’s finally out. If you like a heavy dose of wild, crazy love that only exists in the world of novels or mangas, Summer’s Desire ought to be your dish.

Those of you who are familiar with both Korean and Taiwanese dramas will notice that Down With Love shares a similar thread to upcoming kdrama Personal Taste starring Lee Min-ho and Son Ye-jin. In both shows, one character thinks the other is not straight (lesbian/gay) because of a lie, and end up staying together and falling in love.

I found the premise of Jerry Yan’s new show – also starring Ella Chen and Michael Zhang – trite and even though I’ve seen and liked all three leads in different dramas, I don’t see them coming together. Most importantly, I don’t actually feel a romantic chemistry between Jerry Yan and Ella.

But watching the first episode made me remember why I liked Ella in Hana kimi; she’s really adorable. AND it’s Jerry Yan afterall. 😉

Two Thumbs Up!

According to Taiwan media reports, a particular newspaper held a poll to select the 5 most handsome Taiwanese actors (the Poll period lasted from 7th – 21st Dec) and the results obtained as of 22nd Dec 11:59pm are as below:

  1. Vic Zhou
  2. Jerry Yan
  3. Ethan Ruan (阮经天)
  4. Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武)
  5. Mark Zhao (赵又廷)

A brainstorming session for the Korean remake of Hana Yori Dango, Boys before Flowers, which I’m really excited about since I absolutely loved the Taiwanese version, Meteor Garden. 😀

F4 is finally back as ONE!! But then, I’m rather disappointed with the pictures released in their much anticipated album entitled “Waiting For You Here”. The costume ICs supposedly spent many hours choosing outfits for the boys’ glorious return but I really don’t see their hard work manifest in the end product.

What’s the problem with Vanness Wu? First he dyes his hair a gross shade of orange in a desperate bid for attention, then he refuses to look into the camera. >.<  Now he does stand out, like a sore thumb!
