Currently fangirling over:

Chinese table tennis star Zhang Jike (currently ranked world no. 4)

He’s so adorable.. and apparently he’s quite rebellious/naughty too, just my cup of tea! :pp

[Okay this has been talked-about for a while now, but I’m still intrigued.]

Barbie Hsu (Da S) is engaged to Chinese 2nd generation chaebol Wang Xiaofei! Their whirlwind romance has been causing a storm in the Chinese media and speculations finally came to an end with Wang’s confirmation of their engagement on his Wei Bo on 29th Oct afternoon. The two apparently met and fell in love at first sight at Taiwanese actress Ady An‘s birthday party in Beijing, and are planning to marry in February next year.

Here’s Chinese actress Yao Chen in a fashion shoot with French magazine L’Officiel. I first saw her in history-spy drama Qian Fu (潜伏) which my dad was crazy about, and then the romantic comedy film Sophie’s Revenge (WATCH THIS! ^^ There’s PETER HO, SO JI SUP, Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing and Ruby Lin -talk about pretty faces and hot bods!). I’ve seen her in an interview for her upcoming film If You Are the One 2, and she seemed pretty down-to-earth and easygoing.

Apparently, plans for a Chinese remake of  the epic Korean romance Autumn in My Heart, aka Endless Love, has been made known for a while and Zhang Han of hit drama Meteor Shower has now been cast in the remake as the lead male. The drama series has already cast its second male lead in Dennis Oh (East of Eden), which makes this drama a high profile Chinese-Korean collaboration.

During the casting process, Chinese pop singer and actor Han Geng (Hankyung) of Super Junior was also a strong contender for the lead male role, but it eventually went to Zhang Han. The drama will begin filming in August at Qingdao, China and is looking at a premiere some time early next year on Hunan TV.

Photographer Rian Dund followed Chinese actress Fan Bingbing on some of her assignments over a period of one year to compile this album entitled “Behind the Scenes with Fan Bingbing”. Compared to those overly PSed photos on the covers of fashion mags, these pictures more or less capture and display another side of a celebrity’s life.

In FTV’s Summer’s Desire which premiered end of May, Barbie Hsu is caught in an intense love triangle between Huang Xiao Ming and Peter Ho. Her love with Huang Xiao Ming is entitled “suffocating love”, while her romance with Peter is described as a ” fatal love”. It has aired 4 episodes thus far and its episode ratings have risen steadily from episode 1’s 0.86 to episode 4’s 1.55.

Personally, I’ve been looking forward to its premiere since the release of its teaser eons ago and shared my anticipation here, and now it’s finally out. If you like a heavy dose of wild, crazy love that only exists in the world of novels or mangas, Summer’s Desire ought to be your dish.

The title says it all 🙂

News of Chinese actress Li Bingbing replacing Zhang Ziyi in the movie Snow Flower and the Secret Fan actually came quite some time ago, but I’ve just seen these really pretty pictures of Li, which gave me the urge to find an excuse to post them 😉

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan would also be Jeon Ji-hyun’s next project following her vampire action movie Blood: The Last Vampire. The movie is based on American-Chinese writer Lisa See’s bestselling novel of the same name: A language kept a secret for a thousand years forms the backdrop for a story of two Chinese women whose friendship and love sustains them through their lives.
